I am not holding a grudge,
I am not going to stand here,
I am not going to wait,
Moving on and on,
Walk alongside me,
Follow behind me,
Or lead the way,
I won’t hold it against you,
If you decide to go,
I won’t force you to stay,
I have points of destination,
I will visit and I will see,
The drum of my heart,
Until it stops beating to death’s embrace,
Will guide me in the direction,
I am destined to face,
A-la da-lullaby,
Sleep and dreams,
Wake and fate,
The thought that leads me,
Is the idea that when I stop moving,
I will see how far I’ve traveled,
I will see who is around me,
I will see all my best memories,
I will see I loved, lived, and pained for the last time on this final day.

Lie still, lie still, my breaking heart;
My silent heart, lie still and break:
Life, and the world, and mine own self, are changed
For a dream’s sake.
Christina Rossetti, from “Mirage” (via the-final-sentence)
